Coffee with Luke ☕✨

A Journey Through Conversations, Community, and Connection There’s something magical about coffee. Not just the drink itself—the bold aroma of beans as they’re ground, the hiss of steam as milk froths, the warmth of a cup cradled between two hands—but the way it opens the door to connection. For me, “Coffee with Luke” isn’t just a series. It’s a chance to slow down, to talk about life, to meet the people who keep our communities alive, and to tell their stories through the comfort of a coffee table. This blog is part of that journey. It’s not just about where I go to drink coffee, but about the experiences, the people I meet, the thoughts I carry with me, and the little lessons I pick up along the way. If you’re reading this with a coffee in hand, then you’re already part of the conversation. Why Coffee? Why Me? When I first started this series, the idea was simple: I love coffee, I love writing, and I love people. Why not put all three together? Coffee shops, to me, are like mini-comm...

So What? Now What? by Osher Günsberg & Campbell Walker (Struthless)

Every so often, a book comes along that doesn’t just entertain—it challenges, questions, and gently re-routes the way you think about your life.  So What? Now What?  by Osher Günsberg and Campbell Walker (known widely as  Struthless ) is one of those rare books. It’s not just a “self-help” manual; it’s a guide, a conversation, and a set of tools designed to help you live with more clarity, intention, and courage. A Fresh, Honest Approach The first thing that stands out is the honesty. Osher and Campbell don’t write from a place of lofty expertise, but from lived experience. Osher brings his well-known candidness about mental health, resilience, and reinvention, while Campbell ( Struthless ) contributes his raw creativity and lessons from years of navigating both artistic life and personal challenges. Together, they deliver a narrative that feels authentic and approachable—like two mates talking openly about the big questions over coffee. Structure & Flow The boo...

My First Smoothie with the NutriBullet Ultra 1000 🍓✨

Today was an exciting day—I finally got my hands on a  NutriBullet Ultra 1000 . I’ve been wanting a strong, reliable blender for a while, and after a lot of browsing and thinking, I decided to go with this one. The best part? I got to break it in with my very first homemade smoothie, and let me tell you, it was  awesome ! Thanks to ChatGPT, I found the perfect beginner-friendly recipe. I didn’t want anything too complicated for my first go, just something refreshing, tasty, and easy to whip up. And this strawberry smoothie ticked all the boxes. The Smoothie Recipe 🍓🥛 Here’s what I used for my first blend: Ingredients 1 cup strawberries (fresh, but you can use frozen) ½ cup vanilla yogurt (plain works too if you like it tangy) ½ cup milk (I used regular, but almond or oat milk would work great) ½ cup ice cubes 1–2 teaspoons honey (optional, but I added a little for sweetness) ✨ Optional extras: A banana for creaminess or a spoonful of chia/flaxseeds for fiber. Instructions Wa...

My New Health Journey: Taking Back Contro

Recently, I received news from my doctor that I have a fatty liver. At first, the words hit me hard—it was confronting, scary, and honestly a bit overwhelming. But after the initial shock, I made a decision: this is going to be the turning point. Instead of letting this weigh me down, I’m going to use it as motivation to completely change my lifestyle for the better. Goodbye to Processed and Sugary Foods One of the biggest changes I’ve made is cutting out the foods that I know don’t serve me well anymore—processed foods, added sugars, and fast food meals. That means no more late-night McDonald’s runs, no more KFC chicken buckets, and saying goodbye to burgers from Betty’s or Grill’d. While those foods might taste good in the moment, they don’t do anything good for my body in the long run. Instead, I’m shifting my focus to whole, nutritious meals. I’ve started adding things like yoghurt into my diet—something simple, refreshing, and full of protein and probiotics that support my gut and...

Coffee with Luke ☕

Letter-style blog edition Dear friends, I’m sitting here with a hot cup of coffee in hand, and I thought it would be nice to write to you in the style of an old-fashioned letter. Sometimes life feels so fast-paced that we forget the simple joy of slowing down, sipping something warm, and sharing our thoughts like we used to. So, here’s a little moment from me to you. Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how much the small things matter. A friendly chat at the coffee shop, the smile of someone who remembers your order, or even the way the sun hits the table just right in the morning—it’s in those tiny details that life feels richest. Coffee has always been my reminder to pause and notice them. As I sip this cup, I’m thinking about the people in my life who keep me grounded—family, friends, and those who show kindness when I least expect it. It reminds me that connection doesn’t always have to be grand; sometimes it’s just sharing a story, a laugh, or even a quiet silence with someone who und...

Tupperware Pete: The Man Who Made Plastic Cool Again

If you’ve been on TikTok in the past couple of years and somehow ended up on KitchenTok or MarketTok, chances are you’ve stumbled across a cheerful Aussie bloke with a big grin, a stack of brightly coloured containers, and a passion for freshness that borders on legendary. That’s  Tupperware Pete . His real name? Pete Williams. But like all great personalities, the nickname stuck, and now even strangers in the supermarket greet him with, “Oi, Tupperware Pete!” How I First Found Pete I first came across Pete in early 2023, completely by accident. I was scrolling through TikTok, half-bored, when a video popped up of a man in a bright shirt holding up a fridge-mate container like it was treasure. “This right here,” Pete declared in his broad Aussie accent, “will keep your lettuce fresh for  weeks . And I mean  weeks , mate.” It wasn’t just the container that caught my attention — it was Pete’s energy. He wasn’t selling, he was storytelling. He’d open the lid with dramatic fl...

Ekka 2025 – A Day Full of Fun, Surprises, and Memorable Moments

Image
Today was one of those days that I’ll remember for a long time. My support worker, Rhyley, picked me up right on time at 9 am. On the way to the Ekka, we chatted about all the things I was most excited to see—from the animals to the showbags, the Seven Pavilion, and of course, the evening show and fireworks. Morning at the Ekka We arrived around 10 am and entered through Gate 4. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, the smell of food in the air, and colourful displays all around. Our first stop was to see the cows and horses in their stables—there’s something so calming about being around the animals. Not long after, Rhyley’s stomach started rumbling, so we stopped for food. He grabbed a burger, while I treated myself to some hot chips. Fuelled up, we wandered around checking out all the agricultural exhibits and managed to score plenty of freebies along the way. Exploring the Seven Pavilion We headed upstairs to the  Seven Pavilion , which had a lively stage with different a...
