Coffee with Luke: A Stroll Through the Lens – My Photography Portfolio
Welcome back to another chapter of the Coffee with Luke series! Today, I'm thrilled to share something truly close to my heart – my photography. Photography has always been a creative outlet for me, a way to slow down, observe, and appreciate the beauty and the quirkiness of the world around us.
So grab your coffee, settle in, and take a walk with me through a visual gallery of some of my favourite shots.
🦙 "Tooth and Attitude"
This is one of those moments where the personality of the animal just shines through the lens. I met this alpaca on a quiet day trip – its confident stare, goofy grin, and bit of straw sticking out made it an instant favourite. There's something raw and honest about animal portraits. No posing. Just presence.
🎨 Street Art Soul
One of the things I love most about photography is how it connects us with the pulse of the local community. This vibrant frog mural – complete with lotus flowers floating in the water below – captures the fusion of street art and nature. It’s psychedelic, colourful, and thought-provoking. Like the walls themselves are speaking to us.
🧱 Wall of Time
This weathered pink wall with climbing vines and soft greenery tells a story of time, growth, and quiet beauty. It’s the kind of spot most people walk past – but I paused, looked closer, and saw potential. Photography teaches us to see the extraordinary in the ordinary.

🪟 The Forgotten Window
An open window with a rustic awning and overgrown reflection hints at something forgotten. I love how the light plays with the textures here – the cracked walls, rusty roof tiles, and reflections of the world just outside. It makes you wonder what stories were once lived behind that glass.
🌿 Urban Jungle Meets Street Spirit
In this shot, a once vibrant building now stands half-abandoned, half-reclaimed by nature. The contrast between the bold graffiti and the encroaching greenery is striking. It’s a reminder that even in decay, there is beauty. Even in chaos, there’s colour.

🐔 Graffiti Rooster – “Come Here Lens”
This one made me laugh. It’s like the rooster is calling to me – the photographer – saying “Come here lens!” The colours are bold, the message playful. And that’s what I love about street photography: it talks back to you.

👁 The Eye of Colour
This close-up of an eye – bright, blue, and all-seeing – surrounded by spirals and surreal colours, feels like something out of a dream. Sometimes, a single eye can tell a thousand stories. This one? It watches, wonders, and winks at the weirdness of the world.
🎭 Faces and Feelings
Bold lines, powerful emotion. I was drawn to this face not just for its artistic expression, but because it made me feel something. It’s intense and a little mysterious – just like how we all feel sometimes. That’s the power of art captured through a lens.
🛡 Urban Samurai
A skull in samurai armor sprayed on a wall – fierce, detailed, and full of attitude. The strength in the shadows and highlights here made it one of my favourite finds. I didn’t expect to stumble on something that looked like it came from a manga, but there it was. Ready for battle.
🐸 Stickers from The Nurso
And finally – a light-hearted moment. I loved the quirky sticker display at The Nurso. From a frog saying "Be Wild" to a plant warning "Plants Make People Weird" – it's all good vibes. These small moments of joy are what make a great photography day.

Final Thoughts
Photography isn’t about perfection. It’s about noticing – the colours, the cracks, the characters, the contrast. Every image you see here was captured on the fly, with intention, with curiosity, and a lot of love.
Thanks for joining me on this visual coffee break. I hope these images inspire you to look a little closer at the world around you – there's art everywhere if you're willing to see it.
Until next time,
