Coffee with Luke: Real Estate Agent Hunt – A Bus Stop Safari!

Hi friends, and welcome back to another Coffee with Luke!

Over the next couple of months, I’ve decided to take on a new, quirky, and totally local activity that’s part photography project, part social experiment, and part community exploration… and it all started with my morning coffee and a walk down the street.

Lately, I’ve been noticing something that I can’t unsee now — real estate agents are everywhere. I don’t mean in the office or just on signs outside houses for sale. I mean in our bus shelters, on billboards, on the backs of benches, even popping up next to cafรฉ menus and supermarket entrances — smiling faces, slick suits, and some VERY enthusiastic headshots.

So, I thought… why not turn this into something fun?

๐ŸŽฏ The Mission:

Over the next couple of months, I’ll be doing what I now call my “Real Estate Agent Hunt.” My goal is to walk, bus, or drive around my area and collect as many different real estate advertising photos as I can find. I’m talking about the ones displayed at bus stops, outside shops, and on roadside signs.

I’ll be snapping photos (in a totally respectful, non-creepy way of course), keeping track of which agencies are most active in the area, and maybe even awarding my own little prizes like:

  • Most Stylish Agent
  • Cheesiest Smile
  • Best Hair Day
  • Most Dramatic Pose
  • Agent I’d Trust With My House Keys

This is going to be a bit of fun mixed with photography, and a nice way for me to explore more of my suburb — and maybe even discover some coffee spots I’ve never tried along the way!

๐Ÿ“ธ Why I’m Doing It

Besides just being a fun project, this idea taps into some things I love:

  • Photography – I’ve always enjoyed snapping photos, and this gives me a reason to take more.
  • Exploring my local area – You never know what you’ll discover when you pay attention to your surroundings.
  • Collecting – I’ve always liked collecting things, and now I’m collecting faces (real estate faces, that is).
  • Finding humour in everyday things – There’s something wholesome and funny about how enthusiastic these agent photos are. It’s marketing, sure… but also kind of endearing.

☕️ Coffee Stops Along the Way

No Coffee with Luke adventure is complete without a few pit stops at my favourite cafรฉs. As I go on my “agent hunt,” I’ll be trying a new coffee shop each time. I’ll give little shout-outs to the ones I love the most — great service, smooth flat whites, or the best banana bread on the go!

๐Ÿ“Want to Join Me?

If you’re from around the area and you spot a real estate agent’s face on a bus shelter, snap a pic and send it my way! Let’s see who can find the funniest, most stylish, or most over-the-top billboard out there. Maybe we’ll even make a “Top 10 Faces of Brisbane Real Estate” list.

So that’s the plan. A camera, some caffeine, and a whole lot of real estate agents staring into my soul from public transport stops.

Stay tuned for photo updates and award winners as this very Brisbane adventure unfolds. Until next time, keep smiling — or at least try to match the energy of your local real estate agent’s bus shelter grin!

Cheers, Luke ☕️๐Ÿ“ธ
