A Day Out Visiting Real Estate Agents

Today I had the chance to get out in the community with my support worker, and we decided to spend some time visiting a few local real estate agents. The goal wasn’t necessarily to sit down for long conversations with each one, but more to introduce myself, see who was around, and start building a little collection of business cards. I didn’t get to meet most of the agents in person this time, but that’s okay—sometimes the first step is just making the rounds and gathering information.

What made the day extra special, though, was getting the opportunity to meet Nyree Ewings and her team. Nyree is one of the best-known real estate agents in the area, and she has a reputation for being both professional and approachable. Meeting her face-to-face was a great experience. She was welcoming, took the time to chat with me, and her team was really friendly as well. To top it off, I even managed to get a photo with her, which was a really cool moment that I’ll definitely remember.

Nyree also kindly handed me one of her business cards, and that’s going straight into my collection. Having the card makes it feel a bit more personal—it’s a small thing, but it’s a reminder of the good interaction and a connection made.

Business Cards I Collected

Throughout the day, I collected a number of business cards from different agencies. Here’s who I picked up cards from:

Each card is more than just contact details—it represents a potential connection, a doorway into learning more about the real estate world, and a record of the effort I put into getting out and engaging with people.

Why This Matters to Me

Collecting business cards might sound small, but for me it’s an achievement. It takes confidence to walk into an office, ask for a card, and introduce yourself, even briefly. With my support worker by my side, I felt more at ease doing it, and I came away with something to show for it.

Meeting Nyree and her team was a highlight because it reminded me that sometimes the right people come along when you least expect it. I didn’t get to meet all the agents on my list, but that’s okay—I know there will be more chances. Today was about starting, trying something new, and taking a step forward.

Looking Ahead

I’d like to keep building on this experience—collecting more cards, meeting more agents in person, and learning about the different ways real estate works in our community. Who knows, maybe next time I’ll get to have longer conversations with some of them.

For now, I’m really happy with how today went. I not only added to my collection but also had the privilege of meeting Nyree and her team in person. It was a reminder that even the smallest outings can turn into memorable moments when you stay open to them.
