Coffee with Luke – A Chat Over a Cup

Hey everyone, I know this episode of  Coffee with Luke  might not be what you were expecting, but I wanted to take a moment to just sit down, sip my coffee, and share a little bit about what’s been going on with me. It’s been a bit tricky finding people to feature in my blog, so if you know anyone interesting—whether they’re in business, sports, entertainment, or just have an inspiring story—let me know! I'd love to chat with them and share their journey. Navigating Life’s Ups and Downs Lately, I’ve been dealing with some ups and downs with my anxiety. Some days are good, some not so much, but I’m managing it the best I can. One of the biggest positives recently has been finding an amazing physiotherapist, Travis Masters. He’s been helping me with my arthritis, my T12, neck, shoulders, and feet. It’s been such a relief to have someone new working on these issues while still continuing to see my long-time physio, George Campbell. George has been a rock for me, and I still reall...

Coffee with Luke – A Week of Changes and Reflections

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well. Life has been full-on lately, with a lot happening all at once. I wanted to take some time to reflect and share what’s been going on in my world. While I won’t go into every personal detail, I still want to express as much as I can. Mum is Home – A Sense of Comfort One of the biggest highlights of my week has been having Mum home with me. It’s such a comforting feeling to have her around. Sometimes, just knowing that a loved one is close by can make all the difference. Life can get hectic, and having that support system at home is something I’m really grateful for. It just makes things feel a little easier, even on the tough days. Psychologist Session – Opening Up and Social Connection Last week, I had my usual psychologist appointment, and this time, I was able to open up more than I have in recent sessions. There’s been a lot on my mind lately—stress, changes, and just the everyday challenges of life. Talking about it wasn’t easy, but it fe...

Coffee with Luke: Surviving My First Cyclone – Alfred

As I sit here sipping on my coffee, the aroma mixing with the lingering tension of last night, I can’t help but reflect on what I just experienced. March 6, 2025, will forever be etched in my memory—not because of a celebration or a special event, but because it was the night I faced my first-ever cyclone. Cyclone Alfred tore through Brisbane and parts of New South Wales, bringing with it a terrifying mix of howling winds, relentless rain, and an eerie uncertainty that hung in the air. I had always seen news reports of cyclones battering different parts of Australia, but nothing prepares you for the real thing until you’re in the middle of it. The Lead-Up to the Storm The warnings started rolling in early. The Queensland Premier, David Crisafulli, and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese both took to the media, urging people to stay safe, take precautions, and prepare for what was coming. I took their advice seriously—securing loose objects, charging my devices, stocking up on essentials, a...
