Coffee with Luke ☕️ — Teela Hyndes, the kind of Support Coordinator who makes “What’s next?” feel easy

Image
If you’ve ever tried to turn an NDIS plan into real-world support, you’ll know it can feel like building IKEA furniture without the instructions. That’s why the right Support Coordinator matters. Today in my Coffee with Luke series, I’m writing about  Teela Hyndes —a coordinator I’ve come to know for her warmth, clear communication, and steady “let’s get this done” energy—alongside the  Goodrose  team in Moorooka, Brisbane. Goodrose is an independent, Brisbane-based support coordination provider. Their focus is strengths-based, solution-focused practice—helping people build resilience, happiness and quality of life. They’re easy to reach at  Unit 2/1112 Ipswich Rd, Moorooka QLD 4105  (NDIS Provider #:  405 337 1730 ), and they clearly spell out that while they’re not a crisis service, they’ll point you to the right 24/7 supports when you need them.  Goodrose +2 Goodrose +2 Why Teela stands out What I notice with Teela is momentum. She listens, breaks a...

🌿 Healing, Connection, and a Protein-Packed Treat: A Slice of My Life

Lately, life’s felt like a gentle rhythm—some days are slow and steady, others are full of unexpected joy. I’ve been leaning into the things that help me heal, grow, and feel connected. Whether it’s therapy, family, or a new friendship that’s lighting up my days, I’m grateful for the mix. 🧘‍♂️ Therapy That Moves Me Forward Physio with George Campbell at Active Care Capalaba continues to be a highlight. His holistic approach and empathy make every session feel like progress—not just physically, but emotionally too. Psychology with Jodi has also been going well. She’s helped me unpack a lot and I’m learning to express more, not just hold things in. Chiropractic care is still part of my routine. Jake’s been away, but I had the pleasure of seeing Regina recently. She brought a fresh energy to the sessions, and it was honestly awesome to experience a different perspective. And when I need a little boost between appointments, I’ve been loving Carile Reid’s videos on Instagram an...

A Drive of Inspiration — My Thoughts on Carile Reid from Aspley Mazda

Image
I’ve always believed that a great salesperson isn’t just someone who sells a product — it’s someone who connects with people, listens, and makes every interaction feel genuine. That’s what first caught my attention about  Carile Reid , a car salesman at  Aspley Mazda  here in Queensland. Even though I haven’t met Carile yet, I’ve followed his journey through  Instagram ,  TikTok , and the  Aspley Mazda Facebook page . From the very first video I saw, I could tell he wasn’t your typical car salesman. There was something special about his approach — the way he talks about his customers, the excitement he shows when someone drives away in their new car, and the pride he takes in representing Mazda. You can see the genuine care in everything he does. Social media can sometimes feel full of noise — but when you come across someone real and passionate, it stands out. That’s exactly what I see in Carile’s posts. He doesn’t just showcase the cars; he celebrates peo...

When the Bank Lets You Down: My Story with BOQ

(By Luke Ransley) The Beginning of a Long Relationship For more than a decade, I was a loyal customer of the  Bank of Queensland (BOQ) . I trusted them with my savings, my everyday banking, and my financial security. I never imagined that the very bank I supported for over ten years would one day turn my life upside down — not because I did anything wrong, but because I became a  victim of a scam . Like so many Australians, I fell into the trap of a scammer who managed to access my account. It was stressful, embarrassing, and deeply emotional — but what came next made things worse. Instead of being treated with empathy and fairness, I felt like I was treated as  the criminal . BOQ’s head office and online support didn’t offer me compassion — they offered me  confusion and silence . I was pushed around between departments, given vague answers, and eventually told that my accounts were being  closed permanently . No written reason. No explanation. No opportunity t...

Coffee with Luke: Checking In — How I’ve Been Doing Lately

It’s been a little while since I’ve sat down to really check in — not just with others, but with myself. Life has had its fair share of ups and downs lately, but I’ve learned something really important along the way:  it’s okay to pause, to breathe, and to take time to look after yourself. As the saying goes,  “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” That quote has stuck with me because it’s true. Between work, appointments, and life’s daily challenges, I’ve realised that it’s okay to slow down — to find small pockets of peace in the middle of the chaos. Lately, I’ve been focusing more on  balance . Balancing my physical health, mental well-being, and trying to enjoy the simple moments — a walk with Mum, a chat with Mandy, a quiet coffee in the morning before work. Those small things keep me grounded. There have been days that felt heavy, especially when pain or tiredness creeps in. But as my physiotherapist once told me, progress doesn’t always look big — sometimes it’s as si...
